Clothing

During this winter journey in Sweden, temperatures can range from slightly above freezing to extreme cold of down to -35°C. Proper preparation with suitable clothing is essential to stay comfortable during all activities.

We recommend bringing layered clothing, preferably made of breathable and functional materials such as polyester or merino wool. Due to the active nature of the excursions, your body warms up quickly, making moisture-wicking materials important. Cotton is not recommended as it retains moisture and quickly becomes cold.

Dress in layers
Wear multiple layers so you can easily adjust to temperature and activity level. This keeps you warm during rest moments and prevents overheating during activities.

Base layer and protective outer layer
Start with a thermal, moisture-wicking base layer. Add an insulating mid-layer such as fleece and finish with a windproof and waterproof outer layer.

Use functional materials
Choose synthetic fabrics or merino wool. These materials retain heat and wick away moisture, unlike cotton which causes rapid cooling.

Gloves
Thin but warm gloves are recommended. They provide protection from the cold while maintaining grip and flexibility during activities.

By following these guidelines, you will stay warm, dry, and comfortable throughout all winter experiences.
